Lifestyle

Illness and ICU hospitalization can leave limitations - sometimes temporary, sometimes permanent - that must be accepted and that lead to changes in patients' lifestyle. These changes concern simple aspects of life such as food, hobbies, exercise, work.

Who has been seriously ill should realize that some skills could be depressed after the discharge: now the life need to be reorganized on the basis of the actual capabilities.

Prescriptions and medications can delay the return to everyday activities (including work). It may happen that the patient should return to the hospital to renew medications, or undergo some treatment, for example the 'hemodialysis. Everything takes time from the normal routine.

Sometimes, unfortunately it is impossible to return to work. It's very important, even in this case, the emotional and practical support of the nearest persons (wife / husband, children, parents) that can be of great help in accepting the changes to be implemented.
